Dr Norbert J. Janowicz is a senior PDRA in the Wright group at the Department of Chemistry, Cambridge, developing lanthanide based up-converting and down-converting/shifting phosphors for biohybrid and solid-state photoelectrochemical cells. Having completed his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at University College London exploring the synthesis of morphologically controlled particles and fabrication of functional polymer films and coatings. Having spent a year working in industry developing luminescent downshifting spray paints (use-patent) for agricultural applications at Lambda Energy (trading Lambda Agri), Norbert holds expertise in lanthanide based luminescent downshifting materials, polymer film and coating fabrication, and surface and optical analysis.
